Alabama advances to WCWS Championship Series

Oregon can't make a rally in the 7th and Alabama downs the #1 ranked Ducks 2-0 to advance to their second WCWS Champions Series since winning it all in 2012. Oregon is eliminated from the WCWS with a 56-9-1 final record. They will now face rival Florida in the all SEC final for the national championship starting tomorrow night at 7 p.m. CST. Justin's World of Softball will have full coverage with updates and info for game 1.

Bottom of 6th update

Alabama threatens but can't add any insurance. Oregon coming to bat in the 7th for their last chance.

6th inning update

Oregon puts the bat on the ball but can't respond with any runs. Alabama still leads Oregon 2-0 coming to bat in the bottom.

Alabama tacks on another run

Alabama tacks on one more before the end of the inning on single by Fichtner that scores Hunt on a questionable safe call at home. Alabama leads Oregon 2-0 heading to the 6th.

Alabama break the deadlock

Alabama breaks the 0-0 deadlock with McCleney solo homerun over the right field wall. Crimson Tide lead the Ducks 1-0 still batting in the 5th.

#11 Hawkins relieves Hovinga in the circle with one out in the top of the 4th.

Oregon/Alabama update after three innings

Still scoreless from OKC in Game 12 of the WCWS between Oregon and Alabama. Both teams continue to get runners on the base paths but can't get runners around to score. Heading to the 4th still 0-0.

End of the 1st

Both Oregon and Alabama threaten in their halves but leave runners stranded. Still 0-0 headed to the 2nd.

The Oregon Ducks (56-8-1) and Alabama Crimson Tide (52-11) are underway. Oregon is designated the visiting team and on offense first.

Florida Advances to WCWS Champiosn Series

The Bear rally magic runs out. Florida downs Baylor 6-3 to advance to their third WCWS Championship Series. Baylor is eliminated from the WCWS and finishes the season 49-16.

Florida in the 7th

Florida gets one runner on by an error but goes quietly from there to end their half. Baylor coming to bat for their last chance trailing the Gators 6-3. Does Baylor have any magic left?

Heading to the 7th

Going into the last inning with Florida coming to bat trying to add to their lead. Gators up 6-3.

Florida answers

Florida loads the bases and gets a run on a hit-by-pitch on Toft that scores Fuller. Canion has hit four Gator batters so far and is struggling with control at this point. 6-3 Florida leads.

The Bears won't go away

Baylor battles back. They pick up three runs to cut into the Florida lead 5-3 with a Strickland double down the line that scores Young and a Thumann doubled to right field scoring both Strickland and Landrith.

Gators pulling away

Florida adds another three runs after loading the bases with two outs when Schwarz had a base clearing double to before being thrown out at third base to put the Gators up 5-0.

Gators add another

Gators add another run in the 4th inning on a squeeze by Munro scoring Little after her leadoff triple. Baylor down 2-0 coming to bat in the 4th.

Gators strike

Florida strikes first with a Toft double scoring Merritt. Florida up on Baylor 1-0 Bears coming to bat in the bottom of the 2nd.

2nd inning

Still no score in the Florida/Baylor matchup. Runners making it aboard but both pitchers throwing well and defense playing tough behind both of them.

1st inning

Florida and Baylor still sit at 0-0. A couple of controversial calls already by the umpires on a foul ball and throw down/stealing runner at second base.

Florida vs. Baylor

Game 11 of the WCWS is underway from ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. Florida wins they punch their ticket to the championship series. Baylor wins they force another game this evening against Florida winner-take-all.
